What structural steelwork & beams actually is — and when to commission it.
What it is
Structural steelwork covers the load-bearing steel that holds a building up: RSJs (rolled steel joists), universal beams (UB), universal columns (UC), lintels, portal frames, goalpost frames and connecting brackets. It's the steel Building Control cares about — the steel with a calc sheet behind it.
Who it's for

When it's needed
Any time you remove a load-bearing wall, open up a floor, add a storey, span an opening beyond the reach of a lintel, or build a portal frame. A structural engineer's calculation triggers the beam schedule — and that schedule is what we quote and fabricate to.

Yes. We fabricate to the beam schedule and connection details supplied by your engineer, and flag anything that looks off before we cut steel.

Do you install, or just supply?+
